Exhibition Installation (detail). & Gallery, Sorrento, 2025
Irregularity and asymmetry are intrinsic to the natural world and the hand forming processes and materials I use. My skeletal and perforated clay forms are inspired by the intricate nature of coral structure. Rounded colorful forms express renewal.
From years of observing coastal and reef environments, wild nature is my muse. The duality of verdant growth and the bleached quality of old corals or bones is a focus.
My mixed media wall sculptures express reef environments evocative of fragmentation and renewal. Layered clay forms offer a sense of habitat in flux and transformation: movement and stillness, light and shade, positive form with negative space, growth to decay, concave to convex.
